Our Values

Written by: Dr. Karla Heredia, PsyD, LMFT

Heredia  Therapy Group is a collaborative, family-friendly mental health  practice dedicated to providing the best care for our clients.

Our  team reflects the rich diversity of our community here in California,  with people of many different colors, creeds, sexualities, and  worldviews.

We  are directed by women-identified leaders who guide our expert team of  clinicians, technicians, and administrators as we strive to meet the  standards set for our practice.

We stand for social justice, respect, and excellence in service.

We believe that everyone deserves to have a sense of belonging, and we strive to provide a space for that in our clinical work.

And, we hope to do our part by providing healing and love to a world filled with suffering and hate.

These are our values.

Social Justice & Equality

Our  world is wrought with injustice and inequality.  The protests of 2020  made us aware, more than ever, that there is still work to be done.   Civil rights leader John Lewis once declared that “We are one people,  one family, the human family, and what affects one of us affects us  all.”  We recognize that so many of us suffer the effects of injustice  and inequality, and that all of us have the ability to try to make  things right.

We  believe that you deserve the resources you and your family need to  thrive.  We know that all people have innate worth.  We hope for a time  where the marginalized will be welcomed in, the oppressed will be  empowered, and the silenced will be given a voice.

You  deserve a place at the table.  You deserve justice, fairness, and  respect.  And you deserve a space to heal and grow without facing fear,  judgment, or disregard.

Respect for All People

We  recognize the power of identity.  Some identities come with incredible  privilege, while others must work tirelessly to be seen as equals, as  human.  Some are afforded unconditional acceptance from society, while  others are marked as outcasts.  Too many feel alone and unloved.  Too  many are dismissed and written off.  Too many must face hatred,  violence, and abuse because of the way they look, the people they love,  or if and how they choose to worship.

To  those who are marginalized for your gender, sexuality, faith, country  of origin, language, or abilities, we know that you deserve to belong.

If  we do the hard and humble work of seeking equality, our differences can  be recognized as elements which spark inspiration.  Our unique  qualities can be truly appreciated and utilized, thus elevating our  society to the next level.  But most importantly, we can recognize that  we all share the same inherent worth by virtue of our humanity.

Quality of Care

Whether  you are seeking answers through gold-standard testing, healing through  compassionate therapy, or simply aren’t sure where to turn, we are here  for you.

As  stewards of healing and science, our practice strives to provide the  highest quality of psychological services to our community.  We utilize a  wide range of evidence-based assessment, counseling, and skills  training designed to meet the diverse needs of our community here in  California.

We  care because we have been there.  We know what it’s like to deal with  hardship, hurt, and heartache.  Our hope is to offer the best possible  healing to you and your family – you deserve nothing less.

When I take a look at your blog in Safari, it looks
fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it’s got some overlapping issues.
I simply wanted to provide you with a quick heads up!
    Aside from that, wonderful site!

Do you mind if I quote a couple of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to your site? My blog site is in the exact same niche as yours and my visitors would certainly benefit from a lot of the information you present here. Please let me know if this okay with you. Regards!|
