Anthony Gershenson, MA, LMFT 97523

Hello, my name is Anthony Gershenson and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 8 years of clinical experience. In that time, I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients in a number of settings including community mental health, group practice clinics, and my own private practice. Though I’ve treated a wide variety of clients, my specialties focus on adolescents and adults that are struggling with anxiety, social phobia, ADHD, difficulty managing life transitions, and family conflict. My approach to therapy involves two primary goals: to help reduce unwanted symptoms, and improve over-all quality of life. I often incorporate tools based on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore patterns of thought which can give rise to problematic behaviors, while working with clients to delve into underlying issues which may be feeding current symptoms.

The single most important factor in therapy is the relationship between client and clinician. With this in mind, I make it my highest priority to create a comfortable, supportive environment where clients can be themselves, free of any judgment. I want to understand your personal motives for therapy and will tailor treatment according to your unique goals. To me, therapy is not a crutch upon which we are meant to lean forever. I believe strongly in guiding and empowering my clients with tools and insight necessary to heal themselves both now, and in the future. So, how can I help?
